Conservative Environment Network’s Net Zero Conference: Shipping Panelist

November 28, 2018

3:45 pm - 5:00 pm

11 Carlton House Terrace

Michael's final appearance of 2018 will be in London at the Conservative Environment Network's Net Zero Conference.

Following Minister Claire Perry's request to the CCC for guidance on reaching Net Zero emissions, the Conference will explore a conservative approach to the questions posed by introducing this target.

Taking place just two days after the 10th anniversary of the Climate Change Act, the conference will look at the success of the Act so far in spurring low carbon industries like offshore wind, and at the economic opportunities for the UK in going Net Zero.

Michael will be joined on a panel discussing Shipping by:
  • Dr Tristan Smith, Reader in Energy and Transport, UCL
  • Aoife O’Leary, Senior Legal Manager, Environmental Defense Fund Europe
  • Mark Simmonds, Policy Manager, British Ports Association
The panel will be chaired by Diane Gilpin, Founder & CEO, Smart Green Shipping Alliance
