On day 1 of the BNEF EMEA Summit, Michael will join the panel entitled 'Policy Compass Plenary: Electricity market Design' - In an electricity system increasingly influenced by zero marginal cost variable renewable energy how do power generators get paid and what will drive investment decisions? Are any solutions able to absorb continual change or should we expect ongoing reactionary intervention? And what role can markets, industry, regulators and policy makers play in delivering this? Joining Michael will be Jean-François Conil-Lacoste, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board, EPEX SPOT, Jean-Michel Glachant, Director of the Florence School of Regulation and Holder of the Loyola de Palacio Chair at the European University Institute (EUI) & Graham Weale, an Honorary Professor of Energy Economics & Politics at the Ruhr University Bochum. Moderating this panel is BNEF's Head of European Power, Jonas Rooze.
